Allison McGinley

My name is Allison McGinley, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Urban Om Community. My yoga journey began 18 years ago, when my two boys were little and I was searching for a way to find my balance, my center, and a little space for myself.

All these years later, with my boys grown, I find myself coming full circle, rediscovering myself through yoga and growing into my role as an instructor.

I’ve lived in Central Florida nearly my entire life, and my husband and I have lived in the Sanford - Lake Mary area for the last 30 years.

I’m a lifelong learner who loves to challenge myself both on and off the mat. To that end, in the last year, I retired from my 30 year career in local broadcasting and journalism and stepped into a new chapter. Today, I continue to serve my community through my work at UCF, where I help build partnerships between industry and academia.

Yoga has been a constant thread through all of those chapters, a place to reconnect, breathe, move, laugh, and simply be.

My hope is that you find joy and peace in my classes, along with plenty of fun and challenge. Most of all, I hope you leave having found whatever it is you needed that day.
